The event will offer a chance for attendees to bring holiday cheer to the less fortunate children of southern California, while being surrounded by the original artwork and inviting ambiance of The Kona Gallery. The main goal of this fundraiser is to encourage the donation of new toys through the Toys for Tots program and for the Gallery to contribute by giving 10 percent of the proceeds from all art pieces sold during the event to charity. Many art pieces will be discounted to encourage donations. We invite everyone around the Southern California area to join us for a night of giving and art appreciation. To participate, please bring a new, unwrapped toy valued at $5 to the event. Toys must be in their original packaging. Please note that toy guns or weapons cannot be accepted.Since 1947, Toys for Tots has been collecting toys for and delivering toys to children. Now in its 64th year, the organization boasts almost 20 million toys delivered to close to 8 million children, with the overall hope that its gifts encourage children to becomeresponsible and productive citizens in the future. The Kona Gallery and Photojournalism Center was launched by Scott Mc Kiernan in Oct. 7, 2009 and hosts exhibition receptions monthly, with a dynamic rotation of photographic and mixed media art in its three exhibition spaces. In addition, the center hosts a variety of educational lectures andaims to be a space to expose individuals to photography and art from local and international artists.

About Lilly’s French Café & Bar

When Lilly’s opened on Abbot Kinney in 1999, it was one of only two restaurants on the block. Now, Abbot Kinney is an iconic restaurant destination and Lilly’s remains one of the most popular places in the area. With a recent interior redo and the addition of a Bar Menu and extended Bar seating area, this bastion of French comfort food by Chef Francis Bey, is busy throughout the day. The charming setting includes the bar and bar Lounge area, dining room and gorgeous garden patio.

Lunch is served from Noon until 2:30pm Monday through Saturday and offers a $12 lunch special menu daily in addition to the regular menu. Happy Hour is 7 days from from 5:30pm until 7:30pm with a terrific Bar menu offering one of the best little burgers in town. Dinner is served nightly from 6pm until 10:00pm and 10:30 on Friday and Saturday. Sunday Brunch begins at 11am until 2:30pm with a special $12 Brunch special menu and the regular menu being offered.

This is where the locals come to feel at home and people travel just for the Moules Frites. Lilly’s remains au current and a constant in a frequently changing restaurant scene. Comforting, just like the food.

Olivia Ruiz, who has been a singer and musician from her teens, made her nameappearing on the French reality TV show “Star Academy.” Although she did not actually win the show, the young songstress has gone on to become one of the nation’s fastestrising stars and is also a popular pioneer of “nouvelle chanson.

Founded By Scott Mc Kiernan KONA Gallery seeks to create a place for photojournalists to display their work in the best way possible.

The KONA Gallery and Photojournalism Center’s focus is on contemporary photojournalism.

The inividuals chosen for shows can be from any picture agency or unaffiliated, it is about the work, with a special focus and interest in showing current work.

The KONA Gallery’s key visual mission is create a forum for contemporary story telling. KONA is above all a gallery and space for photojournalism. A place for full reportages and moments that give us a point of view or illustrate an issue or moment in history to flourish and be seen. The line between journalism and art photography has been blurred in the last two decades and we hope our photojournalism will find a home in homes, board rooms and public spaces to help people appreciate the images and learn about the issues they illustrate.

ROUTE 66: Ménage à Trois PREMIERE’S AT THE BIG WEDNESDAY GALLERY
Panoramic Artist Olivier Pojzman Newest Tour De Force
SAN CLEMENTE, CALIFORNIA, U.S.–– The Big Wednesday Gallery is pleased to present fine-art photographer Olivier Pojzman’s ROUTE 66: Ménage à Trois. Join us at The KONA Gallery and Photojournalism Center at 412 North El Camino Real, San Clemente, California, U.S. 92672 on Saturday April 23rd from 6-12p.m. for the artist’s opening of these large (as big as 10×10 feet) works of art.

ROUTE 66: Ménage à Trois came about from Pojzman’s love of the open road, especially the iconic highway that stretches 2,400 miles, connecting eight American states. The dusty road runs from Illinois through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and ends in California. Pojzman’s keen eye has captured the quirkiness of many forgotten roadside beauties, combining snapshots to create idyllic photographic mementos. ROUTE 66: Ménage à Trois is a series of limited edition photographic giclees printed on canvas, in triptych form, which individual units can be mixed and exchanged, thus forming new Ménage à Trois’s.

The exhibit will be viewable daily in the Big Wednesday Gallery at The KONA Gallery and Photojournalism Center from April 23rd- May 31st, 2011.

For more information about ROUTE 66: Ménage à Trois and The KONA Gallery, please contact Rebekah Colby at +1.949. 481.3747 or email Rebekah@TheKONAGallery.com.

THE KONA GALLERYAND PHOTOJOURNALISM CENTER––Unveiled on October 7, 2009 by photojournalist and entrepreneur, Scott Mc Kiernan, The KONA Gallery is a space dedicated to the presentation and discourse of photojournalism.
